The Citizen 10/10/02 THE letter you published so prominently last week about the Canal Corridor public meeting was a gross misrepresentation of what was actually an interesting, creative and inclusive event.

The meeting took forward the work to support the Musician's Co-op, other cultural resources and small businesses in the area and emphasised that we all have a part to play.

Those who try to create divisions between people who support some of the best aspects of life in Lancaster will only make it more difficult for places like LMC to survive. If we base a broad community campaign on what unites us then we give those people who addressed us so eloquently the very best chance of success.

Wasn't the main point of the letter you refer to that three more 'sympathetic' councillors on the cabinet might help to prevent the land the co- op stands on from being sold off?

I notice you didn't have a lot to say about that.. what was it you were saying about creating divisions? - Ed
