And all that jazz SWINGING
tunes and a chance to keep the future bright for up and coming Lancaster
musicians - that's what's on offer at the Gregson Centre on Wednesday night, October 23. The
cream of Lancaster's jazz talent will be raising the rafters in a night
of good-time jazz to raise funds for the city's Musician's Co-op. The
three band extravaganza will include
the sounds of cornet, clarinet, and trombone. Not to mention two
singers, two piano players, two guitarists, and a brace of bass players.
Plus a banjo player - and a couple of drummers. They
won't all be playing at
once though - so there will be enough room for the audience! The
fun and fund- raising evening
includes something for everyone, with a range of jazz styles from
traditional to mainstream and modern. There will be toe-tapping,
heart-warming music from the New Riverside Jazz Band, the Bob Moffatt
Quartet and the Sue Parish Allstars. The event
has been arranged to
raise funds for the Music Co-op, which offers rehearsal and recording
space for amateur and professional
musicians of all ages. Tickets for the event, which starts at 8prn, are
available on the door on the night. For more details call 66062. |
