MORECAMBE'S
Worldbeat and Freestage festivals gave music lovers a double reason to
celebrate over the Bank Holiday weekend. Crowds
flocked to the resort's Dome venue on Saturday and Sunday for Freestage
which gave local bands, such as Sterreovaccine and the Puma Sutras, the
opportunity to take to the stage and strut their stuff. Meanwhile
bands and artists from all over the world got even the most reticent
spectator dancing at this year's Worldbeat festival. One
of the headlining acts, Gregory Isaacs, had to pull out of the festival
but was replaced by the popular Max Romeo and the Chamaxs. "They
just had the whole place rocking, said head of Lancaster Arts and
Events, Jon Harris. "The
crowd wouldn't let him off the stage, it was a really good weekend and
the weather was kind to us." |
